The Solar Micro-Generation workflow is intended for homeowners and solar retailers looking to initiate the micro-generation process and obtain an Interconnection Agreement.
An Interconnection Agreement is the agreement between a property owner and City of Lethbridge - Electric Design, regarding the maximum allowable energy generation of a future residential or commercial micro-generation system.
An Interconnection Agreement does not authorize the installation, activation, or alteration of a solar array. A Solar Electrical Permit is required for this work - and may only be obtained by a certified electrical contractor with a valid City of Lethbridge business license, upon receipt of the property owner’s signed Interconnection Agreement.
Electrical contractors who wish to obtain an Interconnection Agreement and a Solar Electrical Permit must use the Residential or Commercial Electrical Permit & Solar Micro-Generation workflow.
